Manisa 60 Decare Olive
Mr. Süleyman's 60-decare olive land in Manisa was integrated into the esular smart irrigation system along with 5 valves, 2 pump stations, and 1 pool. Our system includes 1 water meter with pulse output and 1 pressure sensor. In this way, our land has been digitalized, gaining remote monitoring, control, and management opportunities. Now we can perform our irrigation operations more efficiently and precisely.
Problems Before esular:
Mr. Süleyman aimed to switch to smart and automatic irrigation systems to solve these problems that reduced operational efficiency and increased costs.
- Difficulty of Manual Control: Manual control of 5 valves and 2 pump stations located on the large land was time-consuming and tiring.
- Inefficient Irrigation and Energy: Irrigation operations performed with traditional methods, high labor cost, manual control difficulty, and irregular operation.
- Water Source: We are in a region with insufficient water resources. We run the water well every day and collect the water in our tank.
- Land location and distance: We live in Antalya and we need to go to the land in Manisa every weekend.
- Labor Cost: We need to employ one person continuously.
- Lack of Control and Monitoring: The inability to monitor systems from a central point and the lack of data led to the late detection of possible problems.
- Pool water level monitoring: Control of the pool water level led to extra labor and loss of time.
These problems reduced the operational efficiency of the farm and increased costs. Our producer wanted to solve these problems by switching to smart irrigation and automatic irrigation systems.
How We Solved the Problem
Remote Controlled Smart Valve System: The existing 5 valves and 2 pump stations were integrated into esular‘s remote-controlled and automatically manageable smart irrigation system. In this way, opening and closing the valves has become easily and automatically manageable through our application.
Inefficient Irrigation and Energy: By installing a remote-controlled water meter, wells were ensured to work more efficiently. In this way, monthly water consumption was made calculable by monitoring it through the mobile application. Monthly water and electricity costs decreased.
Water source: We established our irrigation system together with esular. We are in a region with insufficient water resources. We run the water well every day and collect the water in our tank. We can manage the pool by performing remote monitoring and control with a level sensor.
Labor Cost: We irrigate 5 months of the year. If it weren't for this esular system, we would have had to employ one person. We have a saving of 5× minimum wage annually from labor alone. Most importantly, we irrigated our saplings with our scarce water resources in the most efficient way.
Central Management Software: A software infrastructure was established that allows all systems to be managed through a single platform. Thanks to this software, our producer can plan irrigation schedules, monitor the status of valves in real-time, and set automatic irrigation programs.
Mobile Access Opportunity: We live in Antalya and manage the entire irrigation system of the land in Manisa from our phone via artificial intelligence and the cloud.
Automation and Timing: The system was programmed to irrigate automatically according to the determined schedule and plant needs. This minimized human error while ensuring optimum water use with automatic irrigation.
