Azerbaijan Walnut and Almond 600 Decare Smart Irrigation Systems

The land, spread over a large area of 600 Donums and divided into 2 parts, created a difference by working in partnership with esular within the scope of the remote control and monitoring project with 50 valves, 2 pumps, 2 pressure sensors, and 2 water meter systems with pulse output. It has been modernized by taking loss and leakage situations under control through monthly and instant water consumption.

Problems Before esular

  • Difficulty of Manual Control: Manual control of 50 valves located on a large area and 2 different locations was time-consuming and inefficient.
  • Inefficient Irrigation and Energy Loss: Irrigation processes carried out with traditional methods, high labor costs, difficulty of manual control, and irregular operation.
  • Lack of Control and Monitoring: The inability to monitor systems from a central point and lack of data led to late detection of potential problems.

    Our customer producing in Azerbaijan stated that they wanted to switch to smart and automatic irrigation systems to solve these problems that reduced operational efficiency and increased costs.

How Did We Solve the Problem?

  1. Remote Controlled Smart System: Wells located in 2 different locations were digitized. A fully automatic system was implemented, and in this way, remote well control and water level became monitorable 24/7 via mobile application and web.
  2. Manual Control: Valve control units were installed on 50 valves spread across 2 lands, providing communication via RF and enabling remote control. 
  3. Inefficient Irrigation: By installing remote-controlled water meters, wells were ensured to operate more efficiently. In this way, monthly water consumption became calculable by being monitored via the mobile application. Monthly water cost decreased.
  4. Central Management Software: A software infrastructure was established that allows all systems to be managed through a single platform. 
  5. Mobile Access Opportunity: With esular's mobile application, it became possible to perform operations from anywhere and at any time via mobile phone or tablet. In this way, access to the smart irrigation system became possible at any moment.
  6. Pressure Control: When mains water and the pool are not full, pumps constantly break down and it is difficult to take manual precautions.
  7. Automation and Scheduling: The system was programmed to perform irrigation automatically according to the determined schedule and plant needs. While this minimized human error, optimum water use was ensured with automatic irrigation.
