Smart Irrigation System Investments Included in the Scope of Support Within Rural Development Supports

Within the scope of rural development supports, solar energy systems for agricultural irrigation purposes and smart irrigation system investments have been included in the scope of support. The aim of these supports is to increase water efficiency in the agricultural sector and to provide incentives for farmers regarding sustainable irrigation methods. These supports generally cover issues such as hardware purchase, installation costs, training, and consultancy services. Provided to farmers with favorable financing conditions, these supports aim to increase the sustainability and productivity of agriculture.

Smart irrigation systems provide farmers with more control and flexibility because they can be monitored and managed remotely. This gives farmers the opportunity to plan and manage irrigation operations more effectively. Additionally, by using these systems, water and energy savings are achieved, reducing environmental impact. Along with these supports, training and information services can also be offered to farmers. In this way, farmers become aware of the use and maintenance of new technologies and can derive maximum benefit from these systems. Such supports aim to improve farmers' incomes and living standards while increasing sustainability in the agricultural sector.

The Communiqué Amending the Communiqué on Supporting Individual Irrigation Systems Within the Scope of Rural Development Supports, prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette.

With the regulation, the definitions of "smart irrigation system" and "project control officer, official control" were added to the communiqué for irrigation systems that detect the moisture rate in the soil through placed sensors and are controlled remotely from a center or mobile application or through automation.

Solar energy systems for agricultural irrigation purposes and smart irrigation systems were also included in the scope of rural development supports.

Within the framework of applications for the installation of solar energy systems for agricultural irrigation purposes, grant support will be provided for the operation of the system in the parcels belonging to the application, the completion of full assembly controls, and the preparation of determination reports for materials used only within the field, such as solar panels, pumps, filters, control units, main and side branch pipes, connection equipment, valves, drippers, and sprinkling equipment.

Within the scope of applications for the installation of smart irrigation systems, the operation of the system in the parcels belonging to the application, the completion of full assembly controls, and the preparation of determination reports for materials used only within the field, such as sensors, fully automatic filters, fertilizer tanks with mixers, flow-controlled fertilization pumps, solenoid valves, meteorology stations, and control systems, will also be evaluated within the scope of grant support.

Applications to be made within the scope of the Communiqué will be carried out until the end of working hours on March 15 for this year, and during the January 1-February 28 period in other years.
